On February 20, 2025, AIGDF, in collaboration with Ikigai Law, hosted a webinar session on the key implications of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025, for the India gaming sector. Discussions addressed the challenges of data processing for children and persons with disabilities (PWDs). The session targeted AIGDF members and stakeholders in the gaming industry and game development community. Key implementation challenges highlighted included parental consent, restrictions on tracking and monitoring children, and data-processing requirements for PWDs, particularly in the free-to-play (FTP) segment. It also provided the contextual framework in which the gaming and game development sectors must adapt their day-to-day operations and their relationships with users and partner entities.
