AIGDF and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co Webinar: New draft Data Protection Rules and their implications for the Gaming Industry

On 16th January, 2025, AIGDF and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. collaborated to host a webinar session on the impact of the draft Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 on the Indian gaming sector. The session, targeting AIGDF members, and stakeholders within the game development community, provided crucial insights into the implications of compliance obligations under these draft rules, once notified. It also provided context on the ways in which the gaming and game development sector will have to be adapt and make changes in their day-to-day operations, and in their relationships with users and partner entities.

Vital issues discussed during the session included requirements around verifiable parental consent, children's data processing and sectoral compliances.
